Saxophonist Steven Banks will perform Elliott’s l’amour... for Soprano Saxophone and Piano at the Recital Hall (Bloomington, IN).


Maestro David Effron (Elliott’s teacher for conducting) will premiere YOOK-I-O (6-2-5): KOREAN WAR LETTERS on 10/9/13 at Musical Arts Center (Bloomington, IN) with IU Philharmonic Orchestra. The piece is Elliott’s doctoral dissertation Indiana University and received IU Dean’s Prize. (youtube)


Elliott has become a conductor at Sa-Rang Community Church (남가주 사랑의 교회) in Anaheim, CA. He conducts the choir and orchestra for the first service.

Mikkelin Kaupunginorkesteri (St. Michel Strings) will perform Elliott’s Reminiscence for String Orchestra on 5/16 in Mikkeli, Finland. The conductor is Sasha Mäkilä, and the venue is the Mikaeli concert hall (Martti Talvela Hall).


Petar Jankovic Ensemble premiered Elliott’s (Com)Passionate Music for Guitar and String Quartet (commissioned by the group) at Sheldon Friend of Chamber Music Series (Sheldon Museum of Arts, Lincoln, NE) and decided to program it for the rest of this season.


Akropolis Reed Quintet has announced Elliott’s Autumn in New York as a special mention at Calefax Composers Competition. The piece is from Four Seasons, commissioned by Arundo Donax. Akropolis will perform it at Boll YMCA Downtown Detroit on 3/20.


Elliott’s Shalom for Flute and Orchestra (commissioned by The New York Youth Symphony and premiered in Carnegie) won The 31st Korean National Composer Prize (대한민국 작곡상). It was performed in Haydn Hall of Goyang Aram Nuri Arts Center on 11/22/12 (Thu) at 7:30pm by Young Mi Kim, flute; Jong Il Lee, conductor; and Soliall Philharmonic Orchestra.

Elliott’s Shalom for Flute and Orchestra has been featured on Composers Circle.

Elliott’s Eternal Springtime was performed at University of Iowa by Formosa Trio (Pei-san Chiu, Fl; Tze-Ying Wu, Va; Joy Yeh, Hp). Also, Elliott conducted Eric Lindsay’s Town’s Gonna Talk in the same event.

Fulcrum Point New Music Project has read my Tango Suite for String Quartet in Chicago under the direction of Stephen Burns.

Porterville Summer Strings invited Elliott to return for a second consecutive year as Composer-in-Residence and Conductor. This year, PSS faculty ensemble performed his Bach to the Future and new piece Tango Suite. Also, Elliott conducted in three different concerts.

Elliott’s Bach to the Future and Reminiscence was performed by Brazilian Professional String Orchestra "Orchestra Eleazar de Carvalho" under the baton of Maestro Laercio Diniz on 5/11 in Auditorium IFET, Fortaleza, Brazil.

New York Classical Players (Dongmin Kim, Conductor) performed Elliott’s Reminiscence for String Orchestra in Bohemian National Hall (NY, NY) and Chodae Community Church (Norwood, NJ).

Elliott’s To Tell has received Honorable Mention from Bowling Green State University New Music Ensemble Call for Scores.

Elliott’s Three Musical Moments has been chosen as a Finalist of the International Music Prize for Excellence in Composition 2011 (Thessaloniki, Greece).

Elliott received a commission from Petar Jankovic Ensemble to write a piece for guitar and string quartet, which will be performed in the ensemble’s tour.

Elliott received a commission from Arundo Donax to write a piece for reed quintet (oboe, clarinet, alto saxophone, bass clarinet and bassoon).

Elliott’s To Tell (2011) was premiered by Aspen Contemporary Ensemble in Harris Concert Hall (Aspen, CO) on 8/12, 8:30 pm.

Ensemble Christo (Director: Elliott Bark) had the inaugural concert at Korean United Methodist Church of Bloomington (IN). The program included Elliott’s Shalom (2010) for Flute and Piano.

Elliott received Susan and Ford Schumann Fellowship at Aspen Music Festival and School and will study with Sydney Hodkinson in summer 2011.

Winter Sketches for Saxophone Ensemble (originally for String Quartet) was premiered by Indiana University Saxophone Ensemble at 2011 North American Saxophone Alliance at Northeastern Illinois University.

Elliott’s Winter Sketches for String Quartet was performed at The Festival of New Music at Florida State University by Eppes Quartet.

Elliott’s Winter Sketches for String Quartet was performed at Seully Hall in The Boston Conservatory by Juventas New Music Ensemble.

Elliott conducted Indiana University New Music Ensemble (Twilight Colors by Chou, Wen-Chung) in Auer Hall (Indiana University) on 12/2/10 (8 pm).

Elliott’s Shalom (Flute and Piano version) was read by French New Music Ensemble Zellig.

Elliott’s Shalom for Flute and Orchestra (Commissioned by The New York Youth Symphony and premiered at Carnegie Hall) was aired on Bard College Radio Station (WXBC), hosted by Contemporaneous.

Elliott is appointed as an Associate Instructor in the Composition department at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music as an instructor, teaching Instrumentation and private lessons.

autumn leaves canvas for Harp, received The 2010 Bowdoin International Music Festival Composition Competition Prize, was premiered in The Charles E. Gamper Festival of Contemporary Music (Bowdoin Festival, Brunswick, Maine).

Shalom for Flute and Orchestra, commissioned by The New York Youth Symphony, was premiered by Flutist Alex Sopp and the youth symphony under the baton of Ryan McAdams at Carnegie Hall (Stern Auditorium), NY.

Musicians from The Cleveland Orchestra read Crossover for String Quartet and Piano at Severance Hall (Cleveland, OH). The Assistant Conductor for the orchestra, Tito Munoz, led the reading.

4/25/10 l’amour... for Soprano Saxophone, Harp and Strings was premiered at Auer Hall (IU) by Zach Shemon (member of PRISM Quartet), and Emily Granger.

Crossover for String Quartet and Piano was premiered at 2010 Hammer & Nail Concert with modern dance, choreograhped by Justin Zuchlag.

DUO for Flute and Cello was performed at 2010 GAMMA Conference at University of Texas, Austin.
